Kyle & Richie's Garden Micro Wedding | The Wyck Historic House and Garden, Germantown PA
In the midst of this week’s awful supreme court decision against LGBTQ+ rights (among others)— we are here to spread some QUEER JOY and celebrate the magic that was Kyle and Richie’s garden wedding last month.
Kyle and Richie’s Germantown wedding at the Wyck Historic House and Garden was the perfect mix of everything I love. It had cute boys! It had hand embroidered outfits! It had rose gardens! And their friends and family were the most fun and welcoming group. After their DIY ceremony, they took the group to an intimate party room and Jansen for a sweet dinner and toasts with their closest friends and family, and ended at last at their local fav, Attic Brewing Company.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed and want to support the LGBTQ+ community, The Trevor Project and Trans Lifeline are a good place to start. Trevor’s volunteer commitments start at 8 hours a month and can be done remotely all over the United States. With a focus on youth, Trevor provides 24/7 support to LGBTQ+ folks that spans more than just suicide prevention. Their organization lobbys in DC for better protections and laws for folks, runs a safer social media platform for kids to connect with each other, and offers resources and training for schools and teachers to help better support their queer students. And they can’t do their work without a lot of volunteers. Volunteering is such a meaningful experience. I know because I worked there after starting as a volunteer. I’m happy to give more info to anyone interested in getting involved. <3
